About Edgar:

Named Oklahoma’s Best Performing Artist/Acoustic Guitarist five out of the last ten years by the Oklahoma Gazette, Edgar Cruz gives over 200 live performances a year, mesmerizing audiences everywhere with his unorthodox style. In addition to being the recipient of many industry awards, he has been an honored headliner for over ten years at the annual Chet Atkins Festival in Nashville, has toured throughout the U.S., Europe and South America, and has been featured on ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS-affiliate television and cable stations.

An accomplished solo artist, Mr. Cruz also engages in collaborations with other industry luminaries, orchestras and Flamenco dance troupes. His fifteen recordings and 2 DVDs reflect the versatility and complexity with which his unique skill delivers an array of genres, from Latin to Classical, and Rock to Jazz. In 2004, OETA, Oklahoma’s PBS affiliate, aired a documentary about his life and career titled “Spanish Blood: The Guitar Music of Edgar Cruz” as part of its “Gallery” series showcasing his artistic contributions to the state’s cultural life.

Solo performances by Mr. Cruz typically include live renditions from his amazingly diverse collection of over 400 titles. His own arrangements of the traditional “Malagueña”, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Glen Miller’s “In the Mood,” Deliverance’s “Dueling Banjos,” The Eagles’ “Hotel California” and his popular “Medleys on the fly” are just a few examples of his eclectic repertoire. Mr. Cruz is a master technician whose abilities on one instrument have been compared to the sounds delivered by an entire symphony orchestra. He is available for a wide variety of bookings, regardless of venue size.
